The traditional way to over come the problem of variable diameter reels on one shaft is to either use: 1. Use Soft foam covered lay on roller, 2. Individual lay on rollers for each reel, 3. Eccentric type lay on rollers. All these 3 stated methods have been used for some time with good success, however all have certain draw backs. 1. Foam covering tends to wear prematurely, 2. Individual lay on rollers are costly and take some time to set up, 3. Eccentric designs can work quite well, but are normally very expensive to manufacture.
The LURAFLEX Air Chambered system is a costs effective solution to the problem. (See photo below of demo roller which shows typically what the roll is like inside). The air chambered section allows for a large diameter variance across the full web width and the Out covering can be almost what ever the application required. Typically a harder rubber outer covering allows the lay on roller to last and last before they need recovering.
